Thom is a Multi-Instrumentalist, Composer/Arranger and Teacher based

in the Cotswolds.

He performs in a variety of settings across the UK.

Thom is currently working towards an MMus in Multi-Instrument Woodwind Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where he was an award-winning undergraduate, achieving a 1st Class BMus (Hons) after only 2 years in the woodwind department. 


In the summer of 2021, he was awarded first-place in the Howarth Single-Reed Prize for his performance of Schulhoff’s Hot-Sonate. 


In November 2021, he made his conducting debut in Gershwin’s Finest Hour: a concert for which he orchestrated several reimagined renditions of Gershwin’s work, including the infamous Rhapsody in Blue in the Dora Stoutzker Concert Hall, Cardiff.

In 2019, he became one of the few musicians in the College’s history to transfer from Strings to Woodwind mid-course. He now plays over 40 instruments. Thom’s studies at the College have been supported by the Universal Music UK Sound Foundation Bursary and an RWCMD scholarship. Thom graduated with a First-Class Hons degree in 2021, receiving the Eifion Evans Memorial Award. In July, he will be graduating with an MMus in Multi-Woodwind Instrument Performance and joining Cunard as a resident musician. Thom has performed in many major venues across the UK including the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, the Sheldonian Theatre and Dorchester Abbey (Oxford) and St David’s Hall (Cardiff). Theatre credits include: - A Chorus Line (ArtsEd and Bird College, 2023), Sunday In The Park With George (The Sherman Theatre, Cardiff, 2022), Anyone Can Whistle (UK Revival - Southwark Playhouse, 2022), Twisted: The Untold Story Of A Royal Vizier (Edinburgh Fringe ‘21 - Traverse Theatre), Threepenny Opera (Richard Burton Theatre, RWCMD, 2021) Legend Trippers (The Other Palace, London, 2019).
